project: country club year completed: 2024
This full penthouse renovation was designed to reflect the stunning golf course views visible from all three balconies—but it’s the kitchen that truly anchors the transformation.
Originally closed off and dated, the kitchen was reimagined as the heart of an open-concept layout ideal for both daily living and entertaining. We removed walls separating it from the living area, eliminated the drop ceiling, and painted the exposed ceiling black to create contrast and visual depth. The showstopping centerpiece: a dramatic 15-foot island with ample seating, blending function with bold design.
While every inch of the penthouse was refreshed—from updated materials throughout to a sleek new fireplace in the living room—the kitchen stands out as the soul of this modern, sophisticated retreat. Its transformation captures the client’s desire for a timeless, upscale space that lives up to its incredible views.

FROM THE DESIGN DESK
Each month inside The Insider Edit, we’re sharing one of our go-to design philosophies — the kind of tip we return to again and again when creating spaces that feel elevated, effortless, and entirely lived-in.
From layout strategies to styling secrets, these are the foundational choices we make at Amy Elizabeth Designs to create homes that feel as good as they look.
Because great design isn’t just beautiful — it’s intentional.
Whether you’re refreshing a single corner or starting from scratch, our monthly Designer Tip is here to guide you with clarity, calm, and a little bit of AED magic.
Layer with Contrast for Quiet Drama
A monochromatic palette doesn’t have to mean minimal or flat. This bedroom proves that tone-on-tone can still be rich, textural, and full of visual interest — if you layer with intention.
From the matte black ceiling to the ribbed furniture and moody abstract art, each element adds depth without overwhelming the eye.
Our tip? Use contrast thoughtfully — not just with color, but with texture, shape, and finish. The quilted bedding, velvet pillows, soft-edged decor, and sculptural lighting all play in the same tonal family, yet their differences in form and finish create a layered, luxurious calm.
one room, one look
Introducing One Room, One Look — a singular, considered vignette where form, function, and feeling meet.
Each month, we’ll unveil a fully styled space that captures the essence of Amy Elizabeth Designs: layered simplicity, livable beauty, and effortless cohesion. Every piece has been chosen with intention and balance in mind.
